Once a month I have the single gals from church for lunch, once a month we do 6 older couples for lunch and home fellowship, once a month I host a Christian Writers group and once a month I host 4 or 5 women who sew for various charities or just sew- we sew for 2 days 6 hours each day. Working on third book. So I am enjoying empty nest. My husband at age 76 still works and is away from home 4 days a week- so I needed to find my own way thru quiet days. We too take off once a year for a train ride to a beach town and enjoy a couple days away. Maybe another time you might write about when an adult child comes home for a period - that has happened too. But I am once again empty nest and filling it with a purpose.Barbara Anne Waitehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00315596391096525442noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2150363806357767058.post-40438590835893196262015-11-03T15:05:17.019+01:002015-11-03T15:05:17.019+01:00Thank you, Ellen, for sharing! She was the last of four and the only girl. It was an adjustment, but I am thankful for my husband and the fact that we are still best friends. I am also thankful that three of my children and our grandkids live nearby. The other is a missionary in Brazil and we keep contact through facetime and texting often. What a blessing technology is these days. I thank you for this it was an encouragement. I do have 4 grown children with families of their own, and had to send one of them back by herself to go to college. It hurts to see them go, but they must begin their own lives.I love your blog!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01685200231710300801noreply@blogger.com
